StillRising places special emphasis on building the bench and strengthening the network of support available to POC leaders who serve in leadership capacities that center and serve POC communities. We understand, acknowledge and center the importance of identity for POC leaders working in communities. Our goal is to support and develop POC leaders to work in tandem toward the realization of a shared agenda for collective liberation and justice.
The Leadership Alliance
In 2023, StillRising co-created and launched The Leadership Alliance, a leadership development program to amplify impact and support BIPOC leaders who are working on issues related to equity and social justice in their communities through education and human services.

StillRising is committed to supporting the residents and natural resources of Puerto Rico.
Since the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, we have been working to connect and highlight grassroots, community led movements for self-determination and self-sufficiency on the island of Puerto Rico.
People of Color (POC) executives in the nonprofit sector often face a range of challenges, different from their white counterparts, that can hinder their career advancement and success. Despite comparable training, tenure and experience, they are often underrepresented in leadership roles, resulting in a lack of role models and support networks (Race to Lead Revisited: Obstacles and Opportunities in Addressing the Nonprofit Racial Leadership Gap" by the Building Movement Project, 2019). In the fall of 2023, POC Execs @ was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in response to the increasingly urgent need to create spaces for executives of color to come together, strengthen relationships and build community.
POC Execs @ events are scheduled several times a year, at locally owned POC venues or partner locations and offer an opportunity for executives to come together, socialize, establish friendships and build social capital.
